According to the media reports, the new package of EU sanctions could lead to an increase in prices for goods, including electronics. This is due to the expected increase in import costs due to higher fees charged by intermediary firms involved in the process of transferring funds for international trade transactions.
Foreign counterparts are already constantly raising fees for their services, and the new sanctions could only exacerbate the situation. This could lead to an increase in the final cost of goods imported into Russia, not only electronics but other goods as well.
Furthermore, the increase in stages and fees in transferring money for purchasing goods due to restrictions on sending payments directly to China also leads to an increase in the cost of transporting goods. The cost of transporting goods from China could increase by 7-10% due to the increase in payment processing.
The updated EU sanctions against Russia, approved on June 24, also affect the Russian equivalent of the SWIFT system.
