Movement at the Pokrovka – Zhaohe (China) crossing point over the Ussuri River will resume at the beginning of navigation, reports the Khabarovsk branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Rosgranstroy”.

From December 21, 2023, to March 20, 2024, during the operation of the pontoon bridge at the border crossing point, about 1,000 vehicles, around 400 buses, 10,000 people, and more than 6,500 tons of goods were transported in export and import directions. The main exports are round timber and wood chips, while imports include spare parts and equipment for electronic devices, consumer goods, agricultural machinery, and food products.

It is worth noting that the Pokrovka – Zhaohe border crossing opened in July 2022 after two years of the pandemic. In winter, the crossing via the pontoon bridge takes five minutes. The crossing consists of 21 pontoons, with a total length of the floating bridge being 460 meters.
